Annapurna Self-Sustaining Orphan Home
In October 2010 Roman Karpinski (moi’s very own free lance camera man and video editor) decided to take a short sabbatical break and go traveling in India, but of course he took his Canon 5D MK2, Mac Book Pro and zoom h2 digital audio recorder, Roman never really takes a break.
Whilst in Pokhara – Nepal, he was visiting an orphange called “Annapurna Self Sustaining Childrens Home” and decided to do some voluntary work. As a film maker he thought the best way to help them would be to make a potential doner and volunteer film – highlighting the unique aspect of this model orphanage and encouraging complete independence from cash doners and thus in turn giving the children realistic vocational skills.
With a lot of hard work, from everybody involved, this piece was conceptualized, acquired, edited and up loaded in a two week period whilst living near the orphanage.
We think you’ll agree this is a stunning piece of work born purely out of Roman’s compassion for people, his wiliness to-do anything for anyone and his love of film..
Enjoy,
Bart.
